在评估材料燃烧试验特性过程中，对一些易弯曲的薄样品遇火蜷缩但不起燃的情况，宜使用ISO9773标准进行试验。该标准规定了易弯曲薄试样垂直暴露于小型火焰引燃源时燃烧特性的小型实验室筛选法。其试验原理是将圆柱状的样品一端垂直固定在夹具上，用规定的试验火焰对另一端连续施加两次火焰，通过测量余焰和余灼时间，对样品的燃烧特性进行评定。
