CAN/ULC-S102.3 STANDARD METHOD OF FIRE TEST OF LIGHT DIFFUSERS AND LENSES
1. SCOPE
1.1 This test method is applicable to materials employed in light diffusers and lenses.
1.2 The testing procedure described herein is intended to assess the propensity of material employed in light diffusers and lenses to fall from its installed position before igniting
when subjected to test fire exposure conditions in CAN/ULC-S102, as required in the National Building Code of Canada 2005, Volume 1, Clause 3.1.13.4 1 (b).
2. TEST SPECIMEN
2.1 For this test procedure a test specimen having a total length of at least 3600 mm is required. The width of the specimen shall be sufficient to provide a bearing of 13 mm along
each edge when installed in the test equipment. The specimen shall comprise a number of light diffusers or lenses having lengths representative of those used in building construction.
2.2 The formulation, maximum mass per unit area and other significant characteristics of the light diffusers and lenses shall be representative of that used in building
construction.
